| I had a 1966 ES335 TD it was a sunburst color. The TDC stands for cherry red transparent finish. The ES335 ia a semi hollow body most likely with 1957 humbucker pickups. Mine was the best sounding 335 I ever played and the only guitar I regret selling, sounds great thru a 1965 Fender super reverb. |

Yup, on a post-1960 ES-335, C stood for "Cherry Red". On a standard archtop, C typically stood for "Cutaway", when there was a choice of with/without cutaway, such as the L4C or L5C. The other major designators were E, denoting an electric version of a guitar which came in an acoustic version (e.g., L-7E vs L-7 or L-5C vs. L-5CES), and N for natural finish (when that was an option but not necessarily the standard finish).

You got that right,what a fool I was in my teens and 20's. I was a trading fool,a standing joke was [wonder what Charlie will bring in tonight]Can't remember half of them. Several 335's,175's,Byrdlands,Super 400,LOTS of Pauls,Paul Jr's,SG's,Flying V's.These are JUST the Gibson's I remember.Was looking at a band promo photo from around 57 or 58, was playing a goldtop paul with the trapeze tailpiece.Oh well,no fool like a young fool.
