Kevin,Do you mean people like Marty Robbins,Patsy,Billy Walker,Jim Reeves,Eddy Arnold,Ferlin,Faron,Glen Campbell,Dottie, etc. Question Just a fact NO ONE left to fill their shoes.Just a lot of screamers. Can't remember the last song I heard that had a REAL melody,Don't matter very few of these so-called superstars could sing a melody anyway. YOU BETCHA,DYK?BC.

That was awesome!

I've heard a lot of country and even bluegrass albums lately where the 3 part fiddles have been auto tuned and it's pretty sick sounding. Just too precise like 3 notes on a keyboard and they blend together so perfect with no human feel. I realize that autotune can be set up to allow natural vibrato come through but there's no recreating the natural feel of real harmony.

The Matrix is winning, humans have now accepted the robot voice not only for speech ("Your call will be answered in the order received, please stay on the line, or press 1 to be insulted, 2 for an argument in spanish,"), but mainstream music as well. Your brain has been washed, next. Oh, and your TV is watching you too Razz

There were singers back then that couldn't sing on pitch too.

You are right Ricky ,BUT they had something more important than 99.9 percent of the artist [use that term tongue in cheek] of today. They had STYLE .Back then when you heard someone like Tex Ritter,Roy Acuff,Kitty Wells,Cash,Stonewall,Duke of Paducah,Bill Carlisle,Hank Williams, etc, sing one note you KNEW who it was. Most of these did NOT have a sinatra,Andy Williams,Como, crooning voice,They had a style of their own that made them famous. Very little of that today, most [not all] just sound like clones . Rolling Eyes YOU BETCHA,DYK?BC.
