I just completed this Tele-Steel guitar. I guess you could call it a Tele-Bro if you tune it like a Dobro, but tone wise is more of a lap steel.
This guitar can be yours for $650 with gig bag and free shipping to the continental U.S. (I will also ship to Alaska, Hawaii, Puerto Rico, Canada and Australia, but you will have to pay the actual cost of shipping.)
The body is ash. The finish is pearlized nitrocellulose lacquer. The neck is from Lapdancer Guitars, www.lapdancerguitars.com.
The end of the neck pocket was modified so that it mates with the Lapdancer Guitars square neck.
The bridge pickup is a Bill Lawrence L-250. The neck pickup is a Bill Lawrence (Wilde) Keystone. The pickups are wired for a 4-way switch--standard Tele pickup selections plus a fourth position that connects the pickups in series. I fabricated the bridge using a vintage style plate and a custom saddle made from brass rod.
The neck is decorated with faux inlays covered with several layers of clear nitrocellulose lacquer.
The nut is brass.
Let me know if you have any questions. By the way, I also build custom Teles. You can see my work on the VZ Custom Guitars Facebook page. Send me your specs and I'll work up a free estimate. _________________ Bud Veazey
