I'd like to show off my new arrival that is the baby of Frank Carter and Mark Giles- the newest Infinity has hit the streets (so to speak). My sincerest thanks to these two guys- absolutely gorgeous, plays like butter and sounds like silk.

keep us posted on how you like the mechanics and such. i've recently gotten real curious about infinity steels. the frank carter guy just lives up the hill from here but no one seems to know much about him...at least i don't.
looks great...is it your personal steel? |

| Thanks Chris- the mechanics are 2nd to none. Frank has his own changer with new pivot points that work fantastically well. The changes are smooth and easy and the guitar has been designed in such a way that the player can easily make changes. |

The Infinity guitar really impressed me when I sat down to play it at a steel show recently. I'm not much of a mechanical type, but this thing played so smoothly and sounded so good that, if I were in the market for a new steel, Infinity would be at or very near the top of the list of guitars I would check out, for sure.

WOW!!! Might just have to make a drive south real soon and come check that beauty out in person.
Been meaning to have a couple of tweeks on my D-10PP done and seeing "the new baby" would be a great reason to come down. Maybe some golf too!!!!

Looks great MR Jim - for those asking questions the Infinity steel does have lots of unique features - Frank is a profectionist to say the least.

| I like the fretboards! Wish more builders would be more creative with new ideas. Stickers for logos and fretboard design seems to be a weak point for alot of other wise high quality steel guitar builders! |

I've known Frank for many years now, and am glad he is finally building his own guitars. I have seen some of the work he has done fixing up other guitar and his work is first class.
Frank and his wife manage a resort on the Yuba River in Downieville. I don't know that he plays out much, except for steel shows and jams. He is a killer player also.

Jim, you may not be away of this, but it's against federal law to have 2 steels the same color.
Being the great friend that I am, I will spare you the indignity of being arrested and take the blue MSA Legend off your hands. After all, what are friends for?

OMG! The best of both!
I concur verbatim with Jimbeaux's post, with this addendum: Mark Giles, IMO, is the premier cabinet builder in the industry today, and so thinketh Carter, MSA, Fessenden, Zum, and any number of other steel companies that have ordered cabinets from Mark.
Mark and Frank are old friends and their collaboration could only produce something wonderful. I wish Frank much success with his guitar, because they are truly great instruments.

Simply beautiful! Frank Carter's talents are second to none. Just makes me want to apprentice with people like Frank...
Mark Giles' cabinets are obviously the best in the business. From the choice of the piece of lumber, right down to the finish, it is 100% workmanship, what more can I say?
How does he find such evenly configured grain in that curly maple? Is it quartersawn?
BTW Jim, how do you avoid scratching up that beautiful finish when you place the guitar on top of all those hand tools? Is there a piece of foam there that I can't see?

How do you suppose a guitar built like a Les Paul with a mahogany cabinet and a maple veneer, or perhaps a thicker slab on the front apron, would sound?

| Mike, I'm fartin around with an idea atm. I have a quantity of hard white Maple I acquired from a friend, just plain no figure, so I'm workin on using a birdseye veneer over the plain maple core....I'll post something if I can make it happen...Stormy ;-)ps: beautiful work by Frank and Mark both imho |
