I need to go a little heavier on the strings I'm using. Right now I have
G .011
E .015
C .018
A .022
G .024
E .030
C .036
A .042
G .054
Is there a guide or some way to know, without trying every string in the strore, what gauges to go with if I kick the high G up to a .012?
I did find one source online, but it was in Europe and gave the gauges in mm.
Thanks.

I read your post and then miked my C6 neck
and I have a 12 for my high G and the next number higher than yours on all the rest.
The 11 sounds to tinny for me. |

Hi Rich
Go to b0b's home page. At the bottom is a link "Articals", whole section on string gauges. Right here in the forum.

Hi Rich,I DON"T recomend the string gauges described by Nick Manoloff on a little box I found in a VERY OLD guitar case I bought recently from a “Junk” shop.
Please excuse the slow load time, I just put the page together in a hurry so's you could get it tonight-although it's tommorrow here !!
