My father-in-law recently passed away and he was a steel player. He left a Carter steel in immaculate shape and I am trying to help the family sell it. However I know absolutely nothing about steel guitars. Could anyone from the picture tell me what model steel this is and what it should be selling for? All I know is it's two neck with 8 pedals and 5 knee pedals.

Hey Phil,
I would like to see more pix. And by all means get a price on it. I love the color.

Phil,
Wow! You added more pics as I was posting this. So I have to change it to this:
Below, is priced "ONLY for the STEEL, and CASE" Not the Seat nor anything else. Just the Steel and Case.
That doesn't include a Volume Pedal either.
Look underneath the steel, on the (Tuning Key end) and you'll see a "Serial Number" inscribed into the aluminum.
Write down the Serial Number and Post it, and we'll be able to tell you what year it is, along with a lot more information.
I'd say no less than $2,000. - $2,200 depending. + Shipping.. "Steel & Case Only" for the above amount.
Hope that helps...... Don

Phil
The Carter was made on Day 280 of the year 2003. It's also the 108th guitar produced that year.
Just in case you are asked. Yes that Carter has the BCT Changer, and what appears to be George L E-66 pickups which are a great sounding pup.
Hope that helps. |
