Don't feel bad, there's not much here in Hawaii either!

I play along to ordinary CDs. Try 'Steel Guitar Magic' which has a fair selection of hapa haole songs....and some excellent SG playing by Barney Isaacs Jr and Billy Hew Len. The tempos are fairly relaxed too.

I can't remember the exact explanation of how it's done, but this CD..
http://web.me.com/akakaclub/Bringing_Hawaii_To_You/Simply_Steel.html
is by Alan Akaka. All of these songs are from his "steel the one" program. You can get the arrangements from Ke Kula Mele, his music school. you can at least play along, or there might be a way to turn off the lead guitar. --You'd have to email Alan.

Gerald Ross has a back-up rhythm CD, at least he did a few years ago. I have one. Don't have it in hand, and don't remember the tunes on it.

Can't somebody get Jamey Aebersold interested? BIAB and midi is not the same as good musician produced playalongs like the Aebersold CDs.

We have a few multi-instrumentalists on the forum and I would have thought it would earn some pocket money. First verse played including the lap steel then the rest left to a good rhythm section would be ideal.
