I like this...
"This used to belong to a relatively famous country and western performer but we can't remember who it was not being big fans of the genre". |

I would not think twice, as long as it plays and sounds well - and I could play it.
Whether it's a home build or a top of the range Emmons push-pull, most people will have no idea what it is. Steel players will be interested in something wierd, and will come and try it out.
Anyway, why worry what anyone might think?
Most people are never thinking anything at all!
Cheers

Very similar to Al Brisco's first PSG.
He still has it, and it does not play well or stay in tune.... never did.... but it's a PEDAL STEEL and ya gotta start somewhere.
Make me laugh when folks here put down modern student level guitars as unplayable.
He wrote a story abut it:

.....we're like that here...just cut to the chase..
Anyway it probably looks bizarre to you guys because it's meant to be driven on the lefthand side of the road...
Actually I think the mouse in the crash helmet is the best bit...I hope he's included! |

Is it a Push pull ...seriously though, somebody was probably very pleased with that if it played right.

Gary, thanks for pointing out that beautiful home built. But it doesn't belong in the Pedal Steel section. It only has knee levers. |

It's definitely a Push-Pull. Someone pushed it into a dumpster, and someone else pulled it out. _________________ Zum Encore, Zum Stage One, Fender 2000, Harlan Bros., Multi-Kord, |
