Well I finally got my 1967 Fender Bassman amp back after 5 years and a lot of legal wrangling that appears to be finally over.
Tne power transformer needs replaced. Several years ago a source for the transformer was mentioned in a thread.
If anyone knows of a good source for the replacement xformer please let me know. I'm happier than a pig in a pen that I got the amp back, and I want to get it up and running again,
Also, the chromed J plate for the left side of the head is missing. It's the bracket that attaches the head to the speaker cabinet and gets clamped by the knurled head bolt. If anyone knows of a source fot this too I would appreciate your recommendations.
Thanks all.
PS: That amp sure hasn't gotten any lighter over the years... ![Smile](images/smiles/icon_smile.gif) _________________ Lawyers are done: Emmons SD-10, 3 Dekleys including a D10, NV400, and lots of effects units to cover my clams... |

Allen amps have there own brand of trannies that are made to David Allen's standards. They make great amps.

Maybe Ken Fox can chime in on these.
New line of Allen RITE-IRON transformers are perfect for repairs and replacments of most of the more popular vintage Fenderâ„¢ amplifiers or for your own custom-built projects. Period correct voltages and equal or better current ratings. Direct bolt-in replacements with no drilling necessary. Improved features such as Unistrand pre-tinned wiring for easy soldering, center-tapped heater windings on power transformers for convenient grounding (without the need for 100 ohm grounding resistors at the pilot light) and internal hum shield brought out to a lead for grounding power transformers to reduce hum emissions. |
