The finish is worn but everything else is good. No rust & the electronics sound great. 2 tuners have been repaired. I've never owned an instrument this old & I want to take care of it, but I didn't buy it as a collector. I want to play it, while preserving it in its current condition as much as possible. Any guidance would be much appreciated. |

I would say do not do anything to it but keep it clean after use by wiping it down. |

I have a 55' T-8 and I like to give it a good cleanin around the pickups and tuner pans, and maybe give the tuners a little lube and adjustment if they feel loose when ever I change strings. Other than that, I wipe it down after playin as mentioned. Oh, if you ever hear a buzz or rattle try removing the diamond plates on the front and tighten the necks up a tad. These old Stringmasters are wonderful soundin guitars and a real joy to play. |

If you ever have the opportunity to remove the tuner pans, I always like to apply a little white grease to the gears. |
