My wife says I take things too literally. I came to later regret parking in front of a sign that read "Fine For Parking". Who knew?

Haha! James, it looks to me like your knee levers are quite close together? That must be quite comfy!

James,

It looks like a Fender amp or speaker cab behind you.

How did you manage to skewer it at that angle?

Or is it just an optical dillusion? Smile

Are you using the smaller amp by your side as a monitor? Is the smaller amp also powering the speaker cab (if that's indeed what it is)?

Can't believe you guys are playing directly under the hot sun with no cover. I did it a couple of times when I was living in Colorado. After a few songs, it can start to get rough.

Hey James -

Cool pix! Looks like a Perm ...no, not your hair, the guitar. Also your hands look like they're working they way they should. Hopefully, it's all good. Regards,FF.

Chip, Here's a picture of my rig---my '75 Fender Vibrosonic(chassis only) in my Rick Johnson built head cab, and my 8 ohm 15" JBL K130 speakers, which Rick Johnson also built the matching cabs for. I had a couple of Shobud metal logos that live on my cabs now.

The head sits at my side for easy tweaking/setlist/drink stand. The extension cab where ever I want it. Sometimes if I need the extra volume, I bring both extension cabs to push twice the air.

Thanks James...

I got the picture now. Beautiful amp-erage. I like the idea of switching the Fender logos with those vintage Sho-Budders on the cabs, and leaving "Fender" on the amp itself.
They all look like they are in mint condition; and sound like mint, too. Cool

...but, how did you get the cab to skew at that angle?

Well, If ya think about it, a pedal steel guitar can double as a walker, no?

That Head cabinet arrangement makes it much easier to tote---weighs 50LBs--just a few more lbs than a Nash 112. PLUS it's tube tone. Smile

I have a '75 Vibrosonic Reverb combo, it's a heavy son of a gun.
Did you do anything to yours to optimize it for steel? Change any internal parts ? I tried mine with steel guitar and never really bonded with it, it's sitting in storage up in Washington state these days. Crying or Very sad
It probably could have at least used a tube change, though.

Instead of me trying to explain it, in my own words [cuz I may make it even more cornfusing], here it is from the dictionary:

Skew - (1)having an oblique direction or position; slanting
(2)having a part that deviates from a straight line, right angle, etc.

...ie. - the cab looks cocked-up to the left. I was just wondering if you propped it up that way, or if it's just a camera angle, or what?

Maybe, again, it's just an illusion. Maybe it's that hot sun. Laughing

Awe, gotcha Chip. The amp and cab are where I could get them on that trailer---they had chord wads all over the place. Heck, I was happy to keep my steel legs and steel seat from falling through the cracks in that trailer floor. It was all covered with some out-door carpet, so you'd have to guess where to be for survival. They never even leveled the trailer up. But we lived to tell!! Whoa!

Your my hero, buddy.

Absolutely.

What ya gotta go through.

Hard enuff to haul all the jazz around, set it up, test it out, check and double check, finally a sound-check, and only to set-up on a Romper-Room floor. I hear ya and feel ya.

I'm glad I, inadverently, brought this to the fore. So that many up & coming steelers may well learn and take heed of the idiot-syncracies in this biznezz.

It's certainly not all peaches & cream, the music biz.

James, post some tunes if you feel like it.

Smile

Awe heck, that ain't the worst of it, Chip, I broke a nail, too. Razz

Naw, just kiddin', we had a blast at this gig, and will probably do it again next year. Seems like there is always something going on to make these gigs memorable. And I wouldn't trade those memories--at least most of them. Evil Twisted

Our band has a few diddies on youtube. Search for "Byron Mckedy", and you got it.

At least you got to set up facing the crowd James! There was one club we gigged that had such a small stage that I had to set up sideways! Facing the restroom doors! Hated that filthy club! Long gone now, thank goodness.
