Anyone using a Peavey KB300 amp which comes with a 15" black widow spider speaker and horn and has 300 watts of power? it was orginially designed for orgam and keepboards.

Thanks

Alan, I have one of those KB 300 Peaveys, and it works okay for steel, but not the best, and if you are going to carry that thing around, you might as well get a Session 500 which is the best steel amp ever made - just heavy.

I bought one for $50 bucks and it came with wheels. Currently playing a Gretsch 6 string lap steel through it. It's got a really clean sound. Thanks for responsing.

It works really well if you unplug the horn. I used one for several years that way.

That is probably why I didn't like it for steel guitar. The horn does not work well for steel guitar. Good Idea. Unplug it and you have a good steel amp. I may try that on mine.

It will be fine. Turn the attenuation on the horn down a bit.

Keyboard amps make great acoustic/elecric guitar amps.

I want to know is there really a big different in the Peavey Lap Steel or Pedal Steel amps verses the Peavey KB 300. I removed the horn and it currently has a BW 15" speaker. If there's a big different in sound then I will upgrade to the new Peavey Nashville 112 amp. I just need some opions.

Thank
