I don't think that there's any such thing. I've owned two BR-4's with unbound bodies.

According to Gruhn's Vintage Guide the BR-4 was made with double binding, single binding and unbound.
No BR-3 is mentioned. I always thought that was strange, since Gibson did produce a BR-3 amplifier.
Andre Duchoissoir in his recent book "Gibson Electric Steel Guitars" lists the unbound version as the BR-3. |

Yes... it's true. There was a BR-3 lap steel.
Vintage Guitar Magazine Price Guide
BR-3: 1946-47, guitar shaped body, script Gibson logo, 1 P-90 pickup, 2 control knobs, 2-tone sunburst over mahogany body. Replaced by BR-4 in 1947
Gruhn's Guide to Vintage Guitars, p. 256:
BR-3: catalog specs unavailable, 1 example with guitar shaped body, pickup with non-adjustable poles, tortoiseshell celluloid bridge/pickup cover and jackplate, tuners with rivet shaft bases
Introduced: Jan. 1946
