Just in case all of the steel players have seen my other post "PEDAL GUITAR" and thought I've lost my mind.....well, here is an updated version of me playing my Jackson Blackjack 12 string. I took a little more care on this recording so you could hopefully hear the tonal character of the guitar a bit more. Hope ya'll like it.

| What are you using for gear? Is it that Peavey in the background? What reverb devise am I hearing?Really , really pretty tone. You've got some great hands and feel there. |

Ed I. - my guitar is going thru 2 Nashville 112s. I use a floor Boss delay/reverb unit. Very simple. I do record both amps. One left and one right. I additionally add a little verb on one side of the signals so that it enhances the stereo imaging a bit.

Brad M. - it is a great tune....just perfect for steel. Truly this Jackson sounds unlike anything I have ever played. The whole adjustable pickup thing is really interesting. I'm not sure how many folks are catching on to that whole concept just yet.

Zane, another Webb Pierce tune that is great for Steel is "There stands the Glass". Yes, the adjustable pickup concept is a very good idea..all steel builders should incorporate that idea in their designs.

Brad - I'm unsure of the ohms on my pickup. I know we have tried several. I need to ask Harry Jackson because this one does seem to be in a sweet spot.
Carl K. - I'm putting this on a cd later this summer....hopefully, I can play at least one more time as good.

Zane King...That is one of, if not the best version of "Slowly" that I have ever heard, absolutely awesome. You have got to have the most vivid imagination ever when it comes to playing psg, I have been watching some of your other youtube vids, every time I get settled into my little rut of playing, someone like you comes along and posts something like this to mess up my mind.....Thanks a lot, keep them coming.
BTW some of the younger players may not know that this is the song that started the pedal revolution, Bud Isaccs (sp)

Thank you all for the compliments. I'm so glad you are enjoying and even inspired.
Bill Ford - Yep, "Slowly" evidently was the first hit song with "Pedal" Steel Guitar. WOW...who would have thought at that point that we would have ever kind of pull and push imaginable. 
David - I will get some of those up again. I discontinued the other You Tube page because one is enough to manage. I will post later this weekend a couple of the older overviews of my 12 string tuning. I plan to get a few new ones going soon. I think I have made a few improvements since last posting all of those videos.

David,
Bud did have the E to A change on one pedal B & G#. I read somewhere that BE, and Day did the split pedals...The rest,as they say is evolving history.
Zane, I also would like to see your setup. Also, how is the pickup adjustable?

Zane, I think your tone, technique, and all around note selections, are just FANTASTIC. Great job, and that steel makes my LDG sound like a old, tired, has been. All I can say is WOW. Keep it up!!!

Ronnie B. - would you believe that David Jackson and I were totally trying to improve on the world of the LDG with this guitar. Most folks probably do not realize it but Mr. Green was one of my greatest influences. Early on, I got labeled a speed picker and it has been not hard to live up to but also everything else I do gets overlooked. Maybe this Jackson and this sort of stuff like "Slowly" will help my case.
Wally T. - you know I appreciate you brother and your support!!!
Ricky T. - Tab? So time consuming but I may get back at some of that kind of thing eventually.
Bill F. - the pick up adjusts where you can slide it closer to the bridge or further away. You can even angle it if you like. I haven't particular found an advantage in angling the pickup just yet.

I was asked how I record this video so I thought I would pass the answer along to the Forum. I use Pro Tools on my computer. I record through 2 amps and mic each one. I then in the mix just pan the amps left and right. I have a floor unit of a Boss Reverb/Delay. Nothing fancy at all. As I record the song I have my camera recording as well. I then edit in iMovie. The only trick here is that I have to play it completely through just the way I want it. There are better ways to do it but honestly this works just fine.

I was reading today back through this thread. You guys really need to check these sliding pickups out from Jackson Steel Guitars. If you are one of those that constantly adjusts your amp trying to find just the right tone just imagine being able to change the sound of the guitar completely before it ever even leaves the volume pedal. It's sweet!!!!
