I just picked up my first lap steel, Gold Tone LS-8. Seems like a great little guitar, and I'm loving it with one exception. It was shipped strung up for F6 tuning (D-F-A-C-D-F-A-C), a fifth below the C6 tuning--which seems awfully low. I want to restring it and tune it to C6, but I'm wondering if the 25" scale, which seems a little long to me, might require slightly lighter strings than usual.

Any thoughts?

Thanks,
Dan
