I bought a very nice 1966 (date code PJ, circuit AB763) Blackface Fender Super Reverb recently. The grill cloth is replaced with a black one, all necessary caps have been changed and I think a few resistors. Other than that, it has all original transformers, knobs, pots, un-modded circuit (I don't know that it was never touched by a soldering iron, but no evidence of any major circuit mods found by the tech who just serviced it for me) and original CTS alnicos. One is out for recone (you can see the loaner replacement ceramic speaker in the upper right corner). The rest are not reconed (as far as I have seen and been told by my tech) and work great, sound great. Just had the amp gone through completely by the Organ Doctor here in New Orleans. all transformer, cap and resistor values checked some nice NOS Svetlana Winged C 6l6s installed and biased. the amp is running very smooth and clean, sounds like it should. The Vibrato and Reverb sound just right, and the amp has the original footswitch. I've owned a number of good vintage amps, and this is a good one. Killer tone, huge and warm like a Blackface Super is famous for.

But it is WAY too much amp for me. Found something more suitable to my needs, so this very nice Super has to go.

The amp is in very good cosmetic shape, a little tolex wear on the corners, a little scratching around the jewel light but that's about it. The cab feels tight and solid. As I said, all major components except the grill cloth, and caps and resistors replaced as part of routine maintenance, are original. It's in about as good and original condition for a gigging amp as you are likely to get. Detailed pics and codes soon, just short on time right now so please excuse the cell phone pics. Gut shots will have to wait until I get the amp back to the shop to have the re-coned CTS re-installed.
$1,600 plus shipping/insurance.

Thanks for looking!
