I believe the recording in Dallas, Texas in 1976 was the one and only time that the best known pedal steel guitarist, Buddy Emmons, and the best known regular guitarist, Les Paul, ever recorded together. During the jams when all musicians were on the stage at the same time Les and Buddy were sitting right next to each other. Of course, I am prejudiced but Buddy taught Les a thing or two that night. The great Howard Roberts was on the other side of Buddy and during the jam I couldn't help but notice the attention that Howard paid to Buddy when Buddy was picking. The recordings I was looking forward to after the Cavalcade concert were the in studio recordings thatwe had planned and had the o.k. from the artists involved. Curley Chalker with Tal Farlow, Buddy Emmons with Howard Roberts..that would have been a great one, Reece probably with Herb Ellis, Doug with Bucky which was recorded and Julian with Slam Stewart, Louie Bellson and Johnny Gore.....

| Great pic. Crazy, but I immediately thot Pizzarelli was Bellson, then was corrected when I read the roll, only to see Louie is in the mix after all, but hidden! Thanx for naming them all. Dave, is a recording of this night available? |

I have had several inquiries about the Cavalcade Of Guitars from overseas steelers. Some have indicated sending cash. I have recieved orders that way but don't encourage it. The best way to order is to go to your post office and buy a money order. Postal money orders seem to be the best way for foreign orders.
