Wondering if anyone knows? I'm going to see him at the Greek Theatre later in the year.. his new album is drenched with steel (Leisz I think?) and just hoping that he has someone manning the chair.

I saw him last summer at the Greek In LA. Eric Heywood and Greg Leisz were switching off on pedal steel and guitar, they both played steel on one song. It was the best gig I saw all year.

Thanks for the Mix Magazine link. A nice little read about the Ray's home "great room" tracking for his next album. Like many, I have enjoyed listening to his latest album, "God Willing"...etc. and look forward to hearing this next one. I'm a big fan of recordings with great sounding bleed, and the overall character of the room coming into the equation of the group's music.
Incidentally, --in a phone chat with Bill Rudolph, (Williams steel guitars), he said that the Ray tour was to make a stop in Minn. sometime soon (maybe it's already occurred) and that Greg Leisz (a Williams player along with Eric Heywood) had already checked in to invite him to attend the show. So, sounds like that 2 steeler band is pretty well in place.

Josh,

Spoke to Greg a few months ago and it is my understanding that he is on the tour.
