Price is well above fair, I just paid considerably more for the one I bought and had this been available about a month sgo I would now own it. Beautiful guitar, hold your guns on this one it's well worth more. JMHO Ray Surprised Cool Cool

I am certainly no expert.. but the last one that sold on "the bay" went for $1585 plus shipping.. and one has been listed at $1995 several times and has not sold... A Pro II Custom went for $2300 with free shipping, A LDG for $1775..

No idea if they are in better condition.. worse.. etc. Just poking around, but yours certainly seems in "the range".

I have been trying to find a S10 and the numbers have been all over. I do know regular guitars, and the market on quality (Gibson Historics, etc) is still pretty soft.

I would buy something from some one like this who has posted pics of undercarriage at close views than to trust E-bay and it's wares that you absolutely nothing about. They are not in the habit of showing pics of linkages and such only cosmetics that are laced with polihes and waxes. Not saying that you can't get a good deal once in a while but I am just not a gambler. I payed more for mine because it was what He said it was described to a tee, even the blemishes of time were as described. Kind of like buying a used auto, I'll go for the one owners over the mass users anytime. Let the buyer beware.JMHO Rolling Eyes Rolling Eyes

Ray.. absolutely in agreement with you.. but I do have to say that not everyone selling there is "out to get you", many will provide all the pictures you would ask for, and many of the guitars that don't sell here, end up listed there, or are listed there concurrently.

I was merely showing a range of prices of gear that has transacted in the past week or two, and while I would much rather do business here, I find that it is a pretty decent indication of the general, overall market.. YMMV and I was certainly not trying to indicate that this guitar was over/under market, better/worse than the guitars that sold.. etc. Was just providing a point of reference.

I certainly hope he has good luck with the sale Smile

Y'all should note that besides being in almost pristine condition, that it's equipped with 6 Knee levers. This is a bit more rare than the standard 3-4 that most have. They appear to be factory installed and not aftermarket which would justify the price.

thank you all for your comments. michael i am selling this guitar because i got a blonde one just like it but without the extra 2 factory knee levers which the original owner specified when he ordered the guitar new. What does it run to have these installed or at least get the needed factory parts. Though I am only a novice player I do like the changes the extra knees make.

Hugh,

I currently don't have the parts in stock and therefore no pricing. I also don't due repairs. Your best bet would be to contact James Morehead. He's both an expert in both repairs and parts.

Michael

What kind of stuff are you looking to trade for? Imight have something of interest lying around. Beatiful guitar, I just recently purchased one very similar to this and depleted my funds severly. But one is never enough. Rolling Eyes Rolling Eyes

Hugh.....Three years ago, I purchaced a Pro 111 from Billy Coopers Music Shop. It is a beautiful birdseye maple in excellent condition. I fell in love with it (and had to have it). I paid a lot more for it than you`re asking for yours. I think it`s like an old pick-up...It depends on how bad you want it. Someone will need it real bad and be glad to give you anything you want for it.Old Sho-Buds in beautiful condition are in demand. Hang in there....Jim
