Hi Olli,
I've owned three S/Bs. I'm currently rebuilding a 73 Professional. This actually looks solid to me. You can at least see the inlay thru the red transparent finish. You could scrape the finish off the inlay and then drop fill the void with clear lacquer, Then wet sand and buff the whole thing. Sounds pretty daunting doesn't it?
I don't know what's with all the linkage. Square cross shafts? I see some appropriate barrels. Maybe Mr. Morehead can shed more light. I think you wouldn't go wrong for say, $1K Good Luck. Ron

| I had this one on my watch list already, so it is interesting. For me, the red paint is a deal breaker. Refinishing is not for the faint-hearted, and at that price I wouldn't want to have an instrument that I didn't like the color of. If I wanted a red guitar I'd buy it without hesitation. |

With the exception of a few barrels, and the three floor peadals, none of the undercarriage seems to be Sho-Bud.
It's nothing that I'd be interested in.

Olli, I like to see shobud parts in a shobud. I'd request better pics before I'd buy. I don't trust the undercarrage.

I guess the non-original parts don't scare me much. They may even be better than the original parts  With any old Sho-Bud, I assume it's going to need work. |
