I must admit to going for a David Lindley w/Jackson Browne sound on this original tune on the lap steel. Song is "Highway Triple Six' by Lawyers Guns & Money...

Sounds like you nailed it! It looks like the bassist is holding a pick (?) but plucking with his ring finger, that seems like he's making life too complicated. |

I believe the Bass player is holding a cigar in his fingers and plucking with his ring finger. Whatever works, I guess! |

AND, he's got his bluetooth earpiece in! What a talent.
Nice job, Terry. _________________ Links to streaming music, websites, YouTube: Links |

I'd say that you nailed it. E Major tuning? Is that a 6 or 8 stringer? Good stuff.
Still, pretty tough to top the bass player with all that he's doing....what a multi-tasker! |

Yes a cigar & ear piece...one of our songs talks about a 5 star meal and a fine cigar...he lit it up during that song...and the earpiece....he forgot he had it on and said, "I am lucky no one called...it would have scared me to death".
It is a 6 string tuned to E(E-B-G#-E-B-E)...the Lindley tuning.... |

...and if any of you want to see some other clips of the band, with me on guitar, you can search my name, Terry VunCannon on youtube, and a bunch will come up. We are working on material for a CD for this year...I am not going to post the guitar clips on the SGF...but, I an always interested in feed back on the original songs and the band. |

I've heard many guys on YouTube get the Lindley tone, but I think that you have captured Dave's melodic phrasing as well which I believe is the heart of his playing. A big three thumbs up! Thanks for sharing it with us. |
