What's the tuning on the front neck with all the bass strings?

I think the front neck may be tuned to E7. I had a quad Stringmaster years ago and the nut on the front neck had extra wide grooves to accommodate thick strings.

This clip makes me wonder why he ever "upgraded" to pedal steel guitar. Oh well, that's progress. Oh Well Cool
