I suppose the answer is obvious but I thought I'd run it past the Forum because of the wealth of experience and knowledge there among everyone.
First, I gotta say that some of my hesitation is due to the fact that I need another p/p like I need a hole in the head. But I'm never one to turn down a good deal (if it is ) and I stumbled on this one at a store.
OK, this one is a late model, black, all there, dirty as heck, bottom is really tobacco stained, 8 & 5, Comes with a beat up seat & a couple of Emmons VPedals. It plays OK (as much as I can determine given its dust, dirt and gunk) and it obviously needs a going over, It sounds middle-of-the-pack, again, given the old strings on it. I dunno, maybe a diamond in the rough? Then again, the cost of a rebuild throws the whole thing into another price range.
I have learned in my old age that "if you snooze you lose.". So, heck, it might not even be there this afternoon if and when i go back.

Ummmm, If you've got that kind of cash to throw around in this economy, you can't hardly beat 2k for a p/p. The seat and extra volume pedals will net you a couple of hundo to go towards the cost of a rebuild. It may just need cleaned up and set up. Just my 2 cents.

| Is it of known manufacture or a mystery axe? A guitar that was originally a fine guitar would be well worth returning to its former glory, whereas something that was cheezy to start with may be a trap. A treat if the former but if the latter appears likely you should run, run away. JMHO. |

| It is worth checking out. Times are tough right now and that drives down the price of instruments. I have seen good push-pulls languish at reasonable prices on this forum; I can see how a person might drop the price pretty low if they have to sell it quick. But of course, you usually get what you pay for. Good luck! |
