Wow , what an amazing artist, so tastefully smooth and tone to die for. Every song had him displaying his talent at an unbelievable level.All of the musicians were great, But Mr. White was over the top .
This IMO was the best awards type show I've seen in years

| Kudos to the producers for getting Tommy in the first place and then putting him loud, proud and up in the mix. Coulda used a few more close-ups of Tommy but what a treat to see and hear one of the very best ever on national TV. |

great...there were two real things on that show. first was tommy..just beautiful playing that you could actually hear. second was vince gill who's quiet sensitivity forced everyone to shut up and listen.
everything else was a pumped up painted blow up doll. or a posing wanna be a cowboy metrosexual.
i couldn't believe the phony 'is the camera on me now?' faces.

I saw a lot of Tommy last weekend - Friday and Saturday at the Opry and Monday with the Time Jumpers at the Station Inn. Believe me, sitting in with the TJ's for the first time is not an easy gig but Tommy played really well. His playing at all time epitomises taste and flair. He loves his Show Pro guitars and Jeff Surratt is currently building Tommy a new one with a slightly different design. (Watch this space!)

I thought the show over all was a great show and I agree about Vince,Tommy and I thought Carrie Underwood was fantastic with her last number (how great thou art) with Vince and Tommy's playing with that was great too. She sounded even better than she did with the Gospel show some time back.Ron

Please keep this on topic. This is about Tommy and his beautiful contribution to the instrument and music that we love!
Tommy said that I could share this about his rig that night:
"I was using my 4 year old Show Pro, which I love. No effects through 2 Peavey Nashville 112s. Actually just used a jumper cable from one amp to the 2nd amps power input,as to use only one set of controls. The chorus effect you thought you heard was probably anxiety bar wobble.ha-ha."
I wish I could wobble like that, LOL!

| Yes, it may have been the first time for Tommy with the Time Jumpers, but, I couldn't tell, and apparently the Time Jumpers couldn't either. Within a few seconds of ANY song, Tommy was playing harmony parts, with 3 fiddles, Vince and Andy. Just as another note, had Vince or Andy handed him their guitars, he could have played those parts,too. The Station Inn is always packed, but, a substanial number of people were there to see Tommy with the TJ's. Facebook folks can see a nice photo of Tommy, Vince and Andy, on the Show Pro page. I believe the forum friends will enjoy it, and some others. |

Bob Snellgrove,thank you for posting my friend. You can still hear the Grand Ole Opry on the inet from WSM!
Roger, the Nashville 112 is definately a small but mighty workhorse. I was glad and somewhat relieved to see them on stage provided by the rental company(you never really know what you're gonna get).
Jeff, once again, my Show Pro performed like the jewel it is!
