No, I'm not dead yet. Just stopped writing on The Forum. Have been very busy teaching, performing, and recording. Also busy with spring garden and yard work. Still doing about 80 gigs a year; still having more fun both teaching and playing music than any natural born fool alive. Had fun at the Clifton Park, NY pedal steel show; thanks, Andy. Still playing steel my own way, more like a horn or string melody line than like typical Nashville lush chords. Wish I could do what you guys do, but still totally happy following my own inner muse. Just wanted to wish all you guys well -- even though I have been trying to follow my own advice and practice pedal steel more and talk about it less, I still think fondly of all my Steel Guitar Forum friends. Peace and happiness and good health to all of you Forumites! _________________ I give music lessons on several different instruments in Cambridge, NY (between Bennington, VT and Albany, NY). But my true love is pedal steel. I've been obsessed with steel since 1972; don't know anything I'd rather talk about... www.barryhyman.com |
