I watched the Shotgun Red variety show tonite on RFD-TV. This was my first time to view it. They have a really good band and the steel man is Audie Shields. While he did not take a ride but on one song tonite, that I saw, he is a super picker. I have seen him a couple of times at the TSGA in Nashville and he is a good one. I wish he had done more but the show is only 30 min. They also had a very good singer from south Texas. His name was Daniel Marion Hobbs. I am sure some of you Texas pickers know him. Had a very good voice and sang traditonal Country.

He is a super picker. He has a CD out called "Bending Steel" which will give you a sample of what he can do. Recently he has also worked with Leon Rhodes and we know what an awsome guitar player he is. Well Audie is one who can keep up with him, which I conclude puts him is the class of Buddy Charlton. I had the privilege of being his teacher when he started out on the steel guitar. He has since far exceeded anything he learned from me. I am mighty proud of him and what he has accomplished in his life including his musical talent.
