| It would be difficult to prove who first spoke those words. I feel that they apply very well in music related activities. Not the least of all, the pedal steel guitar. For example, you may receive as did Ben Franklin when he experimented with lightning. I'm hoping that others on the forum will agree that those 6 words contain a wealth of logic and meanings. |

Ray,
Most steel players who play country music, are familiar with the song that the late BILLY WALKER recorded, ("Charlies Shoes"). The words of the song, clearly indicate that the one who stepped into Charlie's shoes did not do his homework. |

In my life I have experienced both wealth and poverty, and after careful consideration and a great deal of thought, I've reached the conclusion that wealth is better. 
But a billion vs being able to play like Reece and Chalker? Man, that's a tough choice.

Perhaps you could run for public office, and do something about the runaway inflation. Even the well-heeled are feeling the pinch at the pumps! |

This is a little off topic, but I was actually asked to run for office by some people in one of the 2 major parties (I don't want to start a political debate by mentioning which one.)
I turned them down. I'm interested in politics, but music is far more important. Politicians come and go. Music is forever.

I live in a resort town and we have lots of people with money who summer here. I have to say that a lot of these people have everything money could buy but couldn't be more miserable.
I've come to the conclusion that I have something they will never have.
Enough.
Except Lap steels! Can't have too many of those

No need to be totally oafish. The price of gasoline is quite relevant. I'd be the first in line to complain about the "highway robbery". If I travel 100 miles round trip to playing a job, I'd have you pick up the tab. I think maybe you'd catch on mighty fast! |
