( This is a picture that I photoshopped together, strictly for reference )

As one ages, memories can warp and distort, but I could SWEAR that my friends father owned a Fender Quad Six.
Anyone else have a memory of one of these ?

( I won't ask if I'm crazy, because I already know the answer to that one. )

Sure, Denny Mathis plays the heck out of those today with Two Tons of Steel!

Are you sure Denny's is a 6-stringer and not 8?

Does he still play with Two Tons?

The photos I was able to find of Denny Mathis all show him playing a Quad 8 string Fender.
Fender never made a four neck six string steel guitar as far as I know. If such an instrument exists, it was cobbled together by someone as a personal project.

it is an 8 string and looks a lot like the one you have in your picture. His may be more white it has usually been dark where I have seen it though. He has tried to retire but he still plays several gigs a year with Two Tons as far as I know. Great player as you all know!!!

An early quad 8, with lollipop tuners and 26" scale.
When I got the guitar it was spray painted blue, not once but twice. Very Happy
