I have a student waiting on his Nashville 112 to
arrive.
He has asked me to assist him with the settings.
I would appreciate any help on this because I am
not familiar with this amp although I know it is a
popular choice for Steelers.
Any suggestions?

Roy

It comes with a manual of suggested settings for different instruments - that would be a good place to start. The NV112 is a very friendly little guy.

Roy, for what it's worth I have found that Michael Douchette's recommended settings for the NV112 are exactly perfect to my ear! If you don't know Mike, he is one of Nashville's finest PSG players and has done years of studio work as well as tons of live performances on the "road" with some of the most famous C&W stars. Mike has a great touch and definitely knows what "quality steel" should sound like! I think anyone would do well to listen closely to his comments or suggestions. What are the "Peavey settings?" Try:

Bass 11
Mid -9
Shift on the "8" of 800
Treble and Presence at 0

Start there...

Roy, also try this. It works good for single coil and some humbuckers:
turn the Master gain up to about 8
then use the pre-gain to set the volume you like. I leave mine at 2 to 3 for practicing
Turn the mid all the way off
shift at 8 of the 800
Play with the remaining knobs til you get the tone you like
