Hey, guys, I have two Lab Series L9 amps, one is black face and the other has the bronze color face. I'm pretty sure the black-face is the newer version. Also was wondering if the serial number indicates the age somehow. Can anyone enlighten me on this? Thanks.

Check for date codes on the components. Often, caps, transformers, tubes, and tube sockets have date stamps on them. Sorry I don't have any pictures of examples to show you. _________________ 1974 Marlen S-12 1968 Tele 1969 Martin D-35H |

Let us know what you find. It will be good for documentation purposes.
Personally, I think dating women is more fun than dating amps. (Oops, Sorry b0b, that was politically incorrect.) _________________ 1974 Marlen S-12 1968 Tele 1969 Martin D-35H |

That may be true, but I've not dated any women except my wife for about 26 years now, so I've about forgotten how that would be done... |
