I picked up the new KD Lang album and quite frankly it KICKS ASS. Josh plays some tasty steel and other bits as well as co-wrote some tunes so if you buy it(which you should) some moula goes right in his pocket.
The quality of the songs is fantastic and the band is a stellar unit. The production and everything about this is a winner..it may even be BI-Winning..ha.
According to the notes Joe Pisapia played some steel too, also tasty stuff.
There's a cover version on the Ausy release of Reminiscing the old LRB tune, funny thing, the next day I had a session with Graeham Goble's son Nathan on bass.He said Graeham was honoured to have Ms Lang drag her golden tonsils accross his little dity. Check it out Ya'll!
Cheers, Shane.

Hey thanks Shane....
That album was fun to record, and we did much of it live. The album is called Sing It Loud, out on Nonesuch. Joe Pisapia plays some great steel on a track called Perfect Word.

The Reminiscing track was one take start to finish, and is only available in Australia. Bonus! I met Graeham btw, nice guy.

We were just in Melbourne a couple weeks ago doing some promo for the album, and we're currently in London for a few days. We're doing the Jools Holland show.

I'll be hitting the road with kd for the rest of the year, and will be returning to Australia in November. Hope to see you there!

No sweat Josh, sounds like you guys had a ball recording. I'm definately gonna be there if I'm in town. I'm playing with Ausy rock icon Tex Perkins at the moment and we just finished an album of country tunes, I'm gonna put it to the management to get a support on that gig if it isn't sorted already.I think we could be a delicious entree.Jools is probobly the best music show on the small screen, way cool.
Hey Bernie! The record should be easily obtainable from most good stores or Itunes or other online stores. Though I wouldn't say (and I think Josh would agree)that it contains "hot" steel. Just really tasty and complimentary parts.
I'm sure there's samples on itunes, and you could check out the single (I Confess) on youtube though it doesn't have steel on that track. A killer track none the less and beautifully Big "O" esque, as in Roy.
Cheers, Shane.
