Has anyone here bought and installed one of these in one of their steels? I have to say, I love the sound from the clips. Reminds me of the pickup in my Oahu Tonemaster, which I love, but which has really gone microphonic (probably part of the reason it sounds so great). Smile

Thanks!
TJW

I have two of them, a 6-string and an 8-string, patiently waiting for me to complete the guitars I'm going to put them in.

Yes, I bought one recently for an old Epiphone lap steel and found it to be very much as advertised. A little aggressive for my needs, as it happens, but a great pickup nonetheless. Have never had a Tonemaster so can't compare to that, but definitely in the Supro string-through category.

It's sitting on my bench, btw, back in its box, as new. PM me if you're interested. Could save you some money.

I love my 6-string Chicago Lollar PU. Really nice.

I bought a Lollar Chicago Six a few years ago. last summer I finally got around to installing it in an old Epiphone Electar Century.
it is an aggressive pickup.
I do have a problem with the installation. I have a terrible ground problem.
I have installed single coils before, but that single wire coming from that pickup threw me a bit. I learned how to unbraid the outer wrapping to use that as a ground. I followed numerous instructions.it appears to be wired properly, but I can't use the lap steel because it is dang noisy. I cannot fix the problem.
