I am taking lessons online and am trying to record the lesson to send to the instructor so he can look at it to see where the trouble spots are. I have a Logitech Pro 9000 webcab and can do short clips on that but it don't sound good at all(no doubt it's my playing). Can someone steer me in the right direction so I can get a good audio recording? Thanks.Chuck |

I don't know anything about your webcam, Chuck, so I'm not certain what help I might be. In general, for best audio recording performance with any gear you will need either a comprehensive line feed from a mixer (with all necessary audio elements present)or a good mic or mics placed well - either way the audio content must be recorded at the hottest possible level without clipping. |

Since the lessons are online, have you thought about using a tool that captures the audio/video on the computer? I take online lessons using Skype, and there is a tool that supports recording the entire session. Unfortunately my four-year-old laptop doesn't quite have the horsepower to run it. |
