I had a great time at the Gospel Show and was really blessed. But until that time we were all feeling if it was worth the trip and money. Why can't we have more Gospel and a little less Alcohol. This was my 5th year at the Convention and I just feel there is something different there, and all the friends that were with us thinks the same thing.
Thank You
L.R Denney

Larry

Compared to just a few years ago recent shows have been temperance meetings. Until recently the party didn't stop until all the bodies had been hauled away. Many believe that's part of the problem these days.

Just sayin'

That's the usual evolution of most organizations. As the veteran members age, alcohol begins to conflict with their medications so they stop attending the meetings.

We have had many good comments about the Gospel music show at Scotty's this year. We have asked him if we could do it again, but are still waiting for Scotty to let us know and work out the details. Hopefully it will be a go again this coming convention.

I have never attended the convention, and my best friend, forum member and steel guitarist george redmon hasn't been there since the early 90's. If more gospel music was played, and worked into the schedule, i'd be there every year. Mr Jones, you are so so right about the medication situation. I know of this first hand. I don't drink, but don't mind if others do. Love all kinds of music. But i have heard top players like Doug Jernigan, a wonderful christian player, play some outstanding gospel steel songs. There are several others like HOF member Reese Anderson. Just a thought scotty. Very Happy

I have good news. We will be doing another gospel show on Saturday of the convention from 3:00p to 7:00p. We pretty well already have the lineup and the backup band is ready to go. The band we will be using is Joe Arview and Thunder. The show will be held in the Jefferson room, which is the same place that it was last year.
