The show was held Sunday at the Grizzly Rose night club in Denver, CO (Rocky Mountain Steel Guitar Show) sponsored by Dick Meis, and the schedule was filled with players from the local area plus from many miles away. All the players were excellent. If I had to choose just one player I would single out Curt Shoemaker. We all know that Chuck Lettes and Dick Meis are among the best but Curt needs to know that his set was supurb. Great tone and great selection of tunes and very precise execusion. Curt, you did good! Of course I would say that when Chuck and I played together that was also a highlight for me. What a talent Chuck is.

I met my match when I called Red Kilby on stage to sing "Another Bridge To Burn". I had recorded that tune on my "Keepin' It Country" CD but it was on the pedal steel. I was playing it on my 6 string Rickenbacker Frypan and Red seemed to enjoy what I played. He is an exceptional singer and he got the best out of me on that tune. With a little luck I will see all you guys next year. Scotty

Thanks, Scotty. Sharing the stage with you is always a highlight for me, and your presence brings out the best in any musician.
I look forward to more Fry Pan duets with you. You're right about Red and Curt; they are both fine performers and great additions to our Denver show.

This is the first one that I missed in years. I was in Chicago and my flight got in just as it ended.

You can count on me being there next year!
