But it is sad to read that production stopped. I thought the Magnum was revolutionary in quality for the price and ease of copedent change.

Let me add kudos to Ann Fabian, the widow of mastermind behind most of the great technical info that is on this new site.

All that great content from John, and Bud, could have been lost to future generations without her permission to make it available on the new site.

I'll join in and say congrats to Al for a fine new web site. As most of us already know, Al is one of the head honchos in Canada for selling and servicing steel.

I believe Fourmite Jeff Agnew did the re-coding, making it easy to get to John Fabian's original content. Nice work, Jeff!

I can't seem to find a current link to The E9 Nashville tuning de-mystified for six string guitarists. Can somebody point me in the right direction.

Scott, under the "Learn all about PSG" tab at the top of the page, click on "Beginners info. Scroll down to the bottom of that page and click on the picture in the lower right hand corner.

It certainly is a very well designed website. Very Happy
Carter did make wonderful guitars and Im glad I got a really nice D10 on the forum when I did. It is now even more valuable to me, since the number of Carter guitars is forever fixed. Luckily Al is attending to Carter owners needs, and the website shows a lot of dedication to the company.

Dont be sad Elton, PSG is alive and well. Wink

Late to the party here...

Thanks for the nice words on the site design. Just to clarify:

My friend Al is not affiliated with the web site, or with steelguitar.com, other than the link I provide to his site. Al is entrusted with the task of selling any remaining Carter stock and parts via his own store and web site (http://www.steelguitarcanada.com).

Also, steelguitar.com is no longer affiliated with Carter steels, although the site does provide a way to preserve the previous owner resources (serial numbers, construction info, etc.) John Fabian created. The goal now is to provide information for all brands, while serving as a home for the older Carter pages so future owners will be able to access them.

The site redesign all started as a result of a conversation Dean Parks and I had soon after John's passing, expressing concern that the info on the existing steelguitar.com site not be lost. Ann kindly agreed to let me restructure and design the new site (with modern HTML/CSS code) and transferred ownership of the domain to me.
