Really Nice stuff Zane. Watching this leaves me with the impression that you are inspired by the guitar. I really want to hear more when you get the chance to post some video. Congratulations! Man bonds with guitar - mission accomplished! |

Gary! Wow that's exactly it! Actually about 30 minutes after this video was recorded I told those that were there the following story.
I consider myself a more accomplished pianist than a steel guitarist. That said, there's nothing greater than sitting down to a 7 foot grand piano that is in perfect tune. Truly the instrument itself can completely inspire the musician just like a beautiful sunset might capture the rhythm of an artist's brush. This steel guitar completely inspires me like that. I am playing and approaching the instrument in ways that I have not before. I can only attribute most of that to the steel guitar itself because my playing unfortunately as not advanced that much in the past couple of decades. I'm very excited about what this guitar has done to inspire me. I'm dedicated right now to releasing a new cd later this summer along with an instructional course for my tuning. I wish I had more time and I'd have that all done next week!

Thanks friends for listening! I had a blast.
Ray M. - at this point in the day when this was taped I was playing through the TC Furlough setup. I think that is how you spell it. I have to admit this was one of the finest amplification setups I have used. _________________ Zane King

Most of the stuff I saw in the Jackson Room was with T.C. Spilt cabs and Sarno Classic preamp. Some other reverb but that seemed to be what was used most. It was a good match and sounded great. Seeing Zane was one of my highlights. _________________ JCH D10, 71 D10 P/p fat back, Telonics TCA 500C--12-,Fender JBL Twin, Josh Swift signature.

Boy, when the gloves come off around 0:54, you don't mess around, huh? Whatever the heck that was at 1:23, I want one. How much does one cost?
I better pay attention to your tuning now, that was great. |

I stopped by and caught a few tunes by Zane and I will also say he is one heck of a picker.
Good chops and tone to da bone. _________________ Cops aren't paid much so I steel at night. |

Wow.....I stumbled into this thread just like I stumbled into the Jackson room.....I run the non pedal sessions on the mezzanine and I had to get out for a break.....so I went outside of the room and heard some jazz going on down the hall.....I walked in and saw this guy cutting some hard bop on a pedal steel and my jaw dropped.....I was amazed at how fluent he was all over the neck.....
So now I recognize that the man playing was Zane King......glad that I had the opportunity to see playing like that....fantastic..... |
