I have finally finished my upgrade to my Melobar Rattler,I installed schaller tuners, rebuilt the nut, made a new bridge from 1/4"brass,increased the string spacing, inlaid 1/4 brass plate in the back of the body for better sustain, installed a Vintage Vibe custom pickup built just for this application.Sustain, volume and tone incredible.Pete does a great job on the pu..

Carl,
I had a Melobar Rattler 8 awhile back and did the much the same thing. Installed Grovers, new bridge, nut, and pup. It made a big difference. I also increased the string spacing to 3/8" as the strings were too close together for my taste. I ended up selling it on Craigslist last summer. Wish now that I had kept it. It was lightweight and a good guitar to take to gigs.
