I'm putting in a lawrence 705, what should be the distance from the strings to the top of the pickup. Plus can I split the pickup to a switch, so I can have single or a humbucker. I believe all I have to do is split the white and green wire?

Here's a thread on the 705:

The distance between the strings and the pickups should be between 1/16" and 3/32".
