Check out this old beauty. I might be interested in some trades for an E9 Emmons setup on something. I wish I hadn't sold my Marlen. I don't think I have time to relearn this instrument right now. I need something I can be playing.

If I could get $1300, I'd get my money back. Otherwise, I guess I'll just keep it and convert it to E9.

I think they call that fiesta red, but I call it lipstick. Same color I had on my Marlen. I love red! This is a red lacquer over birdseye. Purty!

Thanks for the offers, I think I'm gonna check into the option of converting this baby. Let me know if you are interested...

Alan,

I'd suggest you talk to Chuck Back. He bought the Flynn rights from Fred Layman's estate who previously had purchased them from Harlold Flynn's estate, the original builder. I have a Flynn SD-10 that Chuck worked on for me about 4 years ago. He does excellent work and has an inventory of Flynn parts. Also, Jim Flynn in Salado, Texas can do this work and does excellent work as well. He replaced all the round cross rods and bell cranks for me then added a Franklin pedal as well as several new changes to my chopedant.

Hope this helps. They are great sounding guitars.

Yes, I spoke to Jim and he thinks I could do the conversion myself. Thanks for the info. I'll check with both of them.

Looks like I've got a swap for a D10 Marlen. Please close.

I actually got to see this baby in action many years ago at the Smokey Mountain Jubilee in Pigeon Forge. This was Gary McVey's old guitar and I can tell it sounded wonderful back then. Gary had this guitar custom built by the late Harold Flynn and had it setup with the Zane Beck tuning at that time. What a wonderful treasure this guitar is gonna make for someone!

True, Nick. I have become a little attached to it and hate to see it go, but I guess I'd better get back to the E9, and a C6 to boot!
