I just bought a LAB L-5 (twin 12) amp at a local pawn shop for $400 (tax included) which I thought was a pretty good deal. I've played through these on lead guitar before and was impressed. Has anyone ever tried one of these for steel and if so what did you think of it?... I took this one to a guitar only gig last night and I think this amp has more treble than any amp I've ever heard!. I could get my Les Paul to sound almost like a Telecaster on the bridge pickup..........JH in Va.

Jerry,
I had the same amp with a 15" speaker. L-9????? Great steel amp! Was really bummed out when I sold it to pay for a Vegas, which, to my ears, and my bandmates, was nowhere near as good-sounding. Brad told me it was the transistors being different.

Yes Jerry! You are correct! Great SS amp. Sounds like a tube amp.
