Nobody has ever seen or heard this puppy, so I'll bring it and let everybody try it out. It has double strings tuned in octaves, like a 12 string guitar, only with 14 instead of 12, because I prefer a 7 string lap steel tuning. It was half of a stringmaster at one time. The other half is now a single 8 with a Hipshot trilogy bridge.

It's tuned to an A major chord. It sounds great when it's played with distortion on rock tunes.

I used it instead of my pedal steel on one of the tunes on me current recordiong project. it has a unique tone totally unlike any steel guitar I've ever heard before.

Mike, that's a cool looking guitar and a great idea to tune it in octaves. I would love to hear samples of how it sounds. Wish I could make the Jam so I could get my free "steel Bar"........Albert Svenddal

Alas, one more reason to regret I'm booked on 4/29. Cool idea Mike... I've spent some time working with an acoustic 12 string (played with a slide), and the sound is really quite different than a dobro... electric would even be more so. Have fun guys.

David, in 1964 (I think) Moserite made a 12 string dobro. I had one at one time. I was told that they only made 50 of them, but the serial number on mine was 54, so the actual number is anybody's guess.

There is a picture of my former guitar in Lorene Ruymar's book on the history of the Hawaiian guitar.

I was extremely disappointed in the instrument. I didn't like the way it sounded, and the pickup was very microphonic and picked up all the sounds in the room.

I traded it in on my Gretsch Country Gent.
