Hey Autry, Is this the same as 570 KLIF? We get talk radio on KLIF 570 in East Texas. I grew up listening to KLIF 1190 in the 60's. It was loud and clear until about sundown and then they turned the power back.

Thank you Autry, we need another classic country station in these parts, that makes two so far, maybe the rest of the stations will follow suit, I think they finally realize here, that classic country is what we want.

Great news indeed. I set my radio on the station this morning and was surprised. Our local radio station plays some great country. I hear a lot of Emmons,Hughey,Rugg,Brumley and many other great steel players. It is good to see a station in a big city going to classic country and maybe some others will follow. Shoot, maybe the Grand Ole Opry may change back. I guess I am just dreaming.

Guess my timing was good . . .

I've been enjoying it since I got to Dallas two weeks ago - I didn't realize it was a recent change: I was thinking ya'll had it this good all the time!

Chris, it is 1190. I listened to it yesterday after work. I do not know if the call letters are actually KLIF now on 1190. 570 is still talk radio and they use the call letters of KLIF. In the 60's, KLIF was 1190. Anyway, the good classic country is on 1190.

I am going to call and give them three songs I like. Of course, they will be lot of steel on them. I sure am glad this station was brought to our attention.

Here's a big website about KLIF. There's even a photo of BUCK OWENS on page 3.

(I will edit this link 'til it works.)

I tuned in yesterday on the way home from work and the first three artists I heard were Vern Gosdin, Haggard, and Hank Thompson. I can't recall the last time any of those three were heard on D-FW radio, much less consecutively.

Thanks for the heads up, Autry. This one just earned a dedicated button on the car radio.
