I thought the show was great too. I enjoyed playing it and seeing old friends. Also thanks to the ladies who took care of the FOOD! Thanks to the great band. It sure makes it easier to play your set when those guys are backing you.

Joe, I agree, it was a fun day. We sure enjoyed playing even though my back was suffering severely. Thanks to you and others who helped me by carrying my equipment. What a great backup band to play with.
Carlene sure appreciated the nice compliments she received on her singing. All in all a great day. I'm sorry we had to leave to go play the Little O' Oprey Saturday night. I would like to be there today.

I want to thank Charlie Steichen and Jerry and Venda Hanley for working hard in the background to make this show our most attended show in many years. Thanks to all who attended Saturday - one of the largest crowds we've had for February.
It's always wonderful to visit with my friends and throw out a note or two. As Eddie said, the food was super also! Thanks to all who helped provide a great meal for us. |

Good Show with many different styles of steel playing. My Girlfriend was trying to describe a Steel Show to her sister in Ft. Worth, Texas. My Girlfriend told her sister it was a "RECITAL". I laughed, that struck me as being real funny. I was the only guy who brought a single neck to the recital.
The Fred Justice guitar did sound really good, Fred is building great guitars. I am sorry I could not attend the Sunday event. After the Saturday recital in Branson, I had a Saturday night paying job, with a really great dance band and got home late. I am really lucky, I have paying jobs with two different great dance bands. I play every Tuesday night with one band, and every Saturday night with the other band. If you want to hear a really good dance band with a steel player going wild, contact me for directions and start times. Some people just come to listen and many come to dance. |

I just remembered Greg Moody was playing a single neck. Greg reminded me of a job we played together somewhere around 1985 at lake of the Ozarks. I had totally forgot about playing that show with Greg. Greg, if you run into Steve Browning, tell him to call me. Also saw David Ball at the Show. Davud used to play on the Roy Clark Show, when I was playing with Glenn Campbell's daughter Debbie Campbell at the Roy Clark Theatre. Almost did not recognize David. |

Thanks to all of you who showed up at the Branson Ozark Steel Guitar Association and Jam (this past Saturday and Sunday). Also, thanks to Charlie and Rosemary Styken and Jerry and Venda Hanley for their great organizational skills and the hard work they put in to make their show a complete success. It was a complete pleasure for me to be a part of such a super rhythm section consisting Adam Guidry (drums), Russ Burns (drums), and Dino Strunk (guitar). Also, thanks to all the great singers who came to give us that change in texture that our audience appreciated so much. We saw a lot of familiar faces this past weekend and we also saw a lot of new faces. We were able to visit with old friends and also make new ones. We also were able to do what we love to do so much and that is to put out great music. I can't wait to see the video that Joey and Scott Riley is putting together. Also, I want to give a special thanks to Bill Myrick for his hard work and his gift that he has with a camera and his efforts to promote our organization. Thanks Bill! Special thanks to all the ladies who put together the great food for the event. My favorite was the lemon merangue pie with the pecans hidden at the bottom. Yum Yum! It was such an honor for me to be able to play with all of the different (and great!) musicians that I would otherwise not have the opportunity to play with. Thanks for showing up guys (and gals) and I look forward to the next event. _________________ vocals and back-up vocals, bass and rhythm guitar |

And I might add--a very big THANK YOU to you and wife Cozette , Buddy, for all you do for our Association. I proudly claim the discovery of Buddy and Charlie both --who came to a special September "reorganization" meeting- and the rest is history. Great salt of the earth people who I am so pleased to call friends. -
There should be pictures sometime this afternoon on another post. |

I have the pleasure of playing with Mr. Bill Myrick and Ms. Eva at Country Your Way each month in Springdale, Ar. He and Ms. Eva are great assets to have in any organization. The SSSGC is very honored and proud to have him in our club. He also is a good steel player himself! |

Norma Jean,
We think a lot of Bill over here, too! I believe I can say that there's enough of him to go around! He's a great guy! But I want to know your secret, Norma Jean, "How do you get him to play his steel guitar"? He's played for us a couple of times and his wife, Eva, has sung! But I guess I'll take what I can get and be happy for that! He means a lot to us here along with his wife!!!
And I'd like to tell the world, sometime in April there's a show there in Siloam Springs which you and your club put together in fine fashion! And I'd like to make a recommendation that everybody attend. No matter where your shows have been held, they've been great! The place you had it last year was super fine!! I sure like the friendliness and welcome that we've always received from you all! Incidentally, I close my eyes and remember Bill playing there!! Remember that, Bill? _________________ Jerry and Venda |

I have those same bad dreams sometimes Jerry-- Maybe they'll leave in time. Incidently, the show will be at the same great place again this year-- details will be upcoming before too many more days. |
