Anybody see Darrell Scott the other night on PBS? He was playing some homemade/custom made dobro-lap steel made out of aluminum? Looked pretty cool. _________________ Zum Encore, Zum Stage One, Fender 2000, Harlan Bros., Multi-Kord, |

No station I know of in SoCal carries Mountain Stage, so guessing blindly (DS doesn't show his instruments on his website that I can see), was it one like this:
Larry Pogreba isn't making these anymore but the Big Heart Slide Co. is.
(If this isn't what Darrell was playing--oh, well...) _________________ "Gopher, Everett?" |

I don't think it was shaped exactly like your picture, but it had a hubcap on it. It was green and it was made from aluminum and the hollow body extended into a hollow neck. I'll bet it was made by the same guy. _________________ Zum Encore, Zum Stage One, Fender 2000, Harlan Bros., Multi-Kord, |

He played it the other night at Wintergrass in Seattle.
yes, green metal body, real hubcap cover--and tuned down in baritone land--whole tuning about a third lower.
Sounded great, very beefy, and with a real rattle-y clanky edge--in a good way! |
