Hi everyone i just wanted to let you know that we are having a Gospel Steel Guitar evening at our church . In the past we were tagged ''Gospel Strings Of Steel '' , and i think this sounds good to me . Anyway i have Mr.Sonny Curtis , Leland Darst ,Kenny Krupnick and yours truly playing Steel Guitar . I have Curtis Mason on Piano ,George Mason on Bass ,Larry Cole on Lead Guitar and Rick Bryan on Drums . I might add that this backup band is awsome . This will be a great evening of music and i am looking forward to it . Our Church will seat around 2000 people so there will be plenty of room for all . Hope to see some of the forum family there . Gary, I'm Jerry Hanley and I'm chaplain of the Ozark Steel Guitar Association. I've been in the ministry over 50 years and have been playing the steel almost that long. I, too, play an Emmons steel. I had my first Emmons for 22 years and this second Emmons I've had for 13 years. I wouldn't trade it for anything! I'm so glad you're having a Gospel Steel Guitar evening at your church. We get to hold church services for steel guitar conventions twice a year and also my wife and I have a gospel DJ program on Steel Radio the 2nd Sunday of every month. We play different artists. Yesterday on our program we had 20 different steelers all playing gospel music. In case you would like to listen, the address is: steelradio.com and it's at 2:00 p.m. central standard time, for 2 hours, every 2nd Sunday of each month. I wish we could be with you for this special evening but we live too far away, and also our OzSGA has a special weekend at the same time. There's no telling how large this steel guitar family is, and it seems each day we become acquainted with someone new. When I saw the "Gospel Steel Music' post I just had to respond! God bless you in whatever you do in your work for the Lord!! _________________ Jerry and Venda |
