Yah, Steve... I miss him too. Played next to Jeff with Johnny Bush for years, though we both went back to the early 80's Texas Pride (him)/Texas Fever (me) days together. Great musician, singer, and human being.

Jeff's last name was Barosh. He grew up in Danevang, Tx, about 15 miles north of where I grew up. He was the greatest. I sure miss him.

sorry guys... I transposed the spelling of his last name. I corrected it. I played a show last week with several original members of "Chance". The line up was me on steel, John Anderson on guitar, Mickey Barosh on drums,Rolly Cardner on keys, and Billy Hafer on bass. Several members of the original Triumphs as well as Kevin Black joined in.

I don't know much of anything about Jeff Chance, but; if I remember correctly, I think he only had one CD-Release, “Walk Softly On The Bridges”, which I enjoy listening to very much and is all I have to remember him by! Did he have any other CD releases?

Ran across this old post and had to share this picture. Taken at the Brenham, TX KC Hall. As far as national releases, Jeff also had "Picture On The Wall" CD which is a must-have. Lots of good solid country stuff on this one (if you can find it) and features Weldon Myrick on a lot of the steel work.

I've been a big fan of Jeff's since the mid 80s when he got the record deal with the band "Chance". Later on, of course, he had 1 or 2 major label solo albums. Tremendous talent...great singer, and multi-instrumentalist. He is sorley missed.

I played with Jeff many years, in his bands and other bands as side men. He was my best friend. Even now, after all these years his death at 51 really weighs heavy on my mind and heart.

Jody, are any of the gigs you did with Jeff, online, perhaps youtube, etc? If so I would love to hear them.

Frank I don't know...I'll check. I played with him off and on from the late 80's I guess through 2007. I'm on his last album entitled "Back Again"...all classic country stuff. Thanks for your interest.

I was wondering who the steel player was on that recording. By the way Jody, the stuff you did at John Anderson's recently was really tasty. Really nice.
