I'm embarrased to admit it but I can't figure out how to properly tune my pedals and lever on an old Red Baron I picked up. My MSA classic is pretty easy to understand but this one??? Someone who knows please speak up or it will become a c6th non pedal soon. The tone however is wonderful.

It's probably a pull-release steel, so to tune a string that raises:

Press (and hold) the pedal to raise the string.
Tune the string to its raised pitch at the keyhead
Release the pedal, and tune the string to its open pitch at the endplate screw

The procedure Richard quoted is correct. For more information, including tuning the KL, you can download the manual for the MSA Sidekick from this site: http://www.steelguitar.com/manuals.html It's in pdf so it takes a couple mins. to load.

The guitars are very similar and the tuning procedure is the same, I think.

You might want to remember that to tune the ''THIRD'' pedal you tune it with the tuning keys with the third pedal down and not at the end plate . This is for the ''FOURTH'' string only i might add .
