Hey Joe, I'd like to hear about ol' Waylon too! I knew him back in my old SoCal days. I first met him at a club called "Hap's Lucky Spot" in Gardena around '64 or so. He was playing a Fender 400 single neck in those days and got a bunch of music out of it. Later on he used an E9 on the Fender but had the "chromatic" strings on it and had it tuned just like the top eight strings on a standard steel. His lowest note was the 8th string E... The last time I saw him was around '75 or '76 at Nash's Music in Inglewood, California and he was trying out a ShoBud D-10 and still playing great.....JH in Va.

Hey Jerry! I played a Sho-Bud seminar at Nash's music in 75, were you there? The band that backed me, included Larry Bales on Bass & Sandy Nelson on drums, He had one leg & I think he had the original record of Wipeout! Such Fond Memories! Al Udeen

Hey Al, I believe I remember that seminar! I worked part time at Nash's as an instrument repairman in the afternoons. Al Bruno also worked there teaching guitar. I bought my old ShoBud S-12 from Nash's. It was a blue color and had 3 FP and 4 KL when I got it. Later I had it up to 8 FP and 7 KL before I finally sold it back here in Va. Kenny Nash lives down south somewhere now. I forgot where but his telephone area code is 678.... I'll call him and see if he has any pictures of the seminar....JH in Va.

Jerry, Back in the 60's waylon was working a gig with Jimmy Cee. The bandstand was in front of a plate glass window. Some guy threw Waylon threw that window, Waylon landed outside, didn't seem to bother him too much. He was good on that steel. Best to all. BOB
