What's really scary is that it wouldn't have to be that big to kill all of us. |

If that video doesn't make you depressed then nothing will.
I gave up watching the Discovery Channel and the History Channel because they'd got into a rut of playing nothing but disaster documentaries night after night.
What a good thing the dinosaurs didn't know much about astronomy and physics, or they would have spent the last few million years of their existence worrying about their extinction.
I'm content to know that the possibility of a global calamity is the same now as it was during the middle ages, but they didn't sit awake all night worrying about it.
I think the chances of this happening during my lifetime, or during the lifetime of the next few generations, is extremely low.
After all, here in California I'd rather worry about the next earthquake on the Hayward and San Andreas faults, which are not only possible but highly likely. |

I guess it depends on your point of view. If you believe man is responsible for where we are now (by evolution, etc.) then perhaps we have to figure out how to fix it to protect our survival. On the other hand if you blame God for putting us here, it is out of our hands anyway, so what good does it do to worry about it. Sometimes it seems we know too much for our own good, or else the more we learn the dumber we get. Either way I don't think we can change much. I'm for less news and more music! |
